Op 9 mei 2026 is het zover: Komart (Polen) opent zijn allereerste solotentoonstelling in Nederland. Iets wat je echt niet wil missen!
Komart werd geboren in 1988 in Starachowice, Polen. Na zijn jeugd studeerde hij af aan de Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakau, waar hij zijn artistieke basis legde. Zijn liefde voor graffiti begon al op zijn tiende. Oudere vrienden uit de buurt, Popeye en Seito, schilderden letters op muren, en dat beeld bleef hangen. In 2006 schilderde hij zijn eerste eigen muur, het startpunt van een non-stop creatief leven. Tekenen doet hij al zo lang als hij zich kan herinneren. En dat is tot op de dag van vandaag niet veranderd.
Zijn visuele stijl is diep geworteld in de wereld van comics en illustratie. De covers die Simon Bisley maakte voor Lobo Batman maakten grote indruk op hem als kind. Ook het werk van Todd McFarlane en Greg Capullo op Spawn sprak hem enorm aan. In zijn werk brengt hij de energie en verhaalkracht van comics samen met de gevoeligheid en techniek van fine art. Het resultaat voelt tegelijk rauw en verfijnd aan.

Komart was born in 1988 in Starachowice, Poland. After his youth, he graduated from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where he built his artistic foundation. His love for graffiti started when he was just ten years old. Older friends from the neighborhood, Popeye and Seito, were painting letters on walls, and that image stuck with him. In 2006, he painted his first wall of his own — the starting point of a non-stop creative life. Drawing is something he's been doing for as long as he can remember. And that hasn't changed to this day.
His visual style is deeply rooted in the world of comics and illustration. The covers Simon Bisley created for Lobo Batman made a huge impression on him as a kid. He was also hugely drawn to the work of Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo on Spawn. In his work, he brings together the energy and storytelling power of comics with the sensitivity and technique of fine art. The result feels both raw and refined at the same time.
